Fabric is a generative VR experience that explores the basic structures of digital reality. In a 3 minute narrative, users experience a range of digital phenomena.
The Beauty of Data
Digital realities have their own general structures. These structures are pretty much universal but normally invisible. Fabric visualises basic digital principles like octtrees, landscape generation, delauney triangulation, raycasting, flocking and digital DNA.
Artificial Life
Since the 1970’s, relatively simple computer simulations have shown to generate results of remarkable complexity. In fact, a small set of rules can generate a diversity and exuberance reminiscent of life itself. Fabric demonstrates two of these concepts (flocking and digital dna) in a visual narrative.
